OVERVIEW OF THE RA-10 FACILITY

The RA-10 Multipurpose Nuclear Reactor will constitute a high-level scientific and technological center. It will provide radioisotopes for medical use, consolidate the country’s capabilities in the nuclear and conventional industries, and open new opportunities for the national scientific and technological system.

Objectives

Consolidate the supply of radioisotopes for medical, industrial, and agricultural use for domestic and international markets in the context of growing demand.

  • Consolidate national production of nuclear fuels.

  • Strengthen the country’s research and development capabilities through advanced neutron techniques in fields such as biosciences, biotechnology, drug design, and materials science and technology, among others.
